In an effort to help improve the level of indoor soccer in southwest Missouri, the Springfield Demize have announced the creation of the Demize Reserves for the Premier Arena Soccer League team. The Reserves will compete in the Mens Open A league at Lake Country Soccer. The team will bring advanced tactics and technique to the league, helping to improve the league and the players in it.
The squad features returning Demize and Demize Reserve players from the PDL and PASL season, mixed with local and collegiate athletes. Former Demize players include Ryan Hambach (PDL), Andrew Vorce(PDL/PASL), and Joel Woodward(PDL), while Jared Chalker, Jonathan Malter, Marcus Fernandes, Nathan Massey, and Tanner Bennett make up the Demize Reserves returning players.
Ryan Barnhart leads the collegiate players dotting the roster, having a National Championship ring from Jefferson College in 2006. Jon Unruh also achieved success at Aurora University, while Henery Hauck Jr. plays at Central Bible College. Jeremy Roper, Andy Sawyer, and Matt Stufflebeam make up the local amateur talent on the Reserve Roster.
The returning PDL and PASL players will help the new talent learn the system used in the PASL Premier, while helping to further develop the understanding of tactics and techniques that the indoor game demands. Players will train and play with and against the Demize PASL team while also having the opportunity to be called up from the Demize PASL Reserve team to play for the first team.
